From my rotting body, flowers shall grow and I am in them, and that is eternity.
In early December I took a small trip to Queensland, desperate for a change of scenery and to breathe different air into my lungs.
On one of the particularly hot days (heat I was not used to, with Melbourne deciding to extend its winter) I walked through the streets of Brisbane with the beautiful Iris of Viviens and a wonderful team, photographing and laughing as I explored the unfamiliar territory.
Doing something creative really had me on a dizzy high and I spent the rest of the day beaming. It’s amazing how something like photographing can bring you back to reality.

Q:I saw your work at your website about 3 months ago. And it really enthralled me. Can you tell how do you do 'colorful and soft' effect to your photos?
Hello lovely! Thanks so much for your kind words :)
I use mainly curves! It takes a long time to work out which colours really work with a certain photo (I’m still learning) but it’s an important step to learn. I find matching something in the foreground with something in the background always looks good. For example, the red lips of the model - matching it by adding a red tinge to the trees behind using Hue/Saturation or Selective Colouring. The paleness of skin, matching that with the sky. I find it gives a unity to the photo - you’ll notice it a lot in photographs you like! As for soft.. well, softening the blacks always helps. Make them so they are not completely black and more grey. Same for whites. Don’t go overboard, however. Also using depth of field to add pretty blurry backgrounds gives a photo that soft edge. You achieve that with open apertures (around 1.2-2 is best).
I hope that helped in some small way!! x
